MY JOURNEY

After more than 15 years in the automotive supplier industry, I know many sides of job strain. As a mechanical engineer in advanced development, a project manager, and an executive assistant, I often experienced “too much,” occasionally the fine line of “just right,” and rarely “too little.” Responsibility, deadlines, and demanding work were part of my everyday life.

Alongside part-time studies, intensive training, and personal crises, those years taught me to recognize and respect my own limits. Exploring what each person can handle sparked my interest in psychology, different personality types, and their needs.

BETWEEN STRESS AND RECOVERY

Birds fly, fish swim, humans run. Guided by this idea, I fell in love with a sport which involves wonderfully little technical complexity. I am happiest running alone in nature, where my mind can settle and my body can do what it was made to do.

Over the course of my marathon journey, including breaks due to wear and tear, I’ve also discovered other sports I enjoy. I completed my first triathlon in 2025, cycle a lot during summer, and ski in the winter.

For me, it is not about going higher, farther, and faster, or comparing myself with others. It is about giving my body what it needs, occasionally stepping outside my comfort zone, and clearing my head. This is often when the best ideas come to my mind.

WHAT I LEARNT FROM PERSONAL SETBACKS

Like many people who pursue sports seriously, I learned through painful setbacks to listen to my body's needs. Since then, I have explored the balance between exertion and recovery in depth. I was surprised to discover how often doing less can actually lead to better results.

A serious cycling accident in 2025 marked a definitive turning point. Major surgery on my head and several throwbacks forced me to put into practice what I had learned over the years. It worked: less than two months after my third operation, I completed my first olympic-distance triathlon.

This experience deepened my interest in neuroscience in general and the neurobiology of stress in particular. Ultimately, this turning point gave me the courage to take my career in a new direction. However, I was able to emerge from this crisis stronger than before not only because of my own efforts, but also because of the family, partner, and friends who support me unconditionally.

WHAT DRIVES ME

Mental and physical performance fascinate me, especially since I have learnt more about the science behind it. Personal experience has taught me that understanding stress is only the beginning. Only when you apply this knowledge and learn from the experience, you create a foundation others can benefit from.

I have seen firsthand that “the more, the better” is one of the most persistent misconceptions about performance. Sustained performance depends on a healthy balance between exertion and recovery.

My goal is to work with organizations and their people to apply knowledge and practical experience to individual needs, creating a healthy workplace and leadership culture that can withstand pressure.

What shaped my past,
shapes my work now.
